Winter training season 2012 at SALC
The committee have come to an arrangement with SALC re next winter season training in 2012.
The arrangement will be a positive cost benefit to our Club.
This will enable the Club to keep both the Tuesday and Thursday evening sessions at SALC
at approximately the same training fee as at present.
The only change the SALC is requiring is that our training times change to 6.30-8.00pm in 2012.
So with the above in mind if you want to purchase more 20 pool entry passes from SALC at $83.25
you should do so before the end of August (passes last for 12 months and can be shared).
After 1 September 20 pool entry passes will increase to $98 (concession/senior card) or $122 (adult entry).
Please note that Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday training sessions will move to Marion outdoor pool from Tuesday, October 4.
Monday and Thursday 10-11.00am return to Westminster pool on Monday, 5 September.
These 2 sessions will move to Marion outdoor pool once the weather becomes warmer.

FREE OF CHARGE basic first aid and child safe courses
Hi Members
The Club has recently joined the 'starclub club development program'.
They have sent information re one FREE OF CHARGE basic first aid officers course in recreation and sport (Sunday, August 28, 2011 from 9am-5pm at Marion Council Chambers) and one FREE OF CHARGE child safe officers course in recreation and sport (Wednesday, September 14, 2011 from 6pm-9pm at Marion Council Chambers).
If there are any members that want to do either courses or update them please let us know ASAP and will pass on further information.

Survey results and summer season training times
Hi members
Results of survey are as follows:
1. Over half of the respondents preferred Westminster pool or either venues - some of the reasons given included cost, water temperature, ease of access to pool (not happy with reception at SALC/administration issues) and shower and change room facilities.
2. The evening session respondents mainly preferred the SALC 50 metre pool available on a Thursday, water and pool quality, cost was an issue as long as it remained around current level.
3. Almost every respondent confirmed that cost was a significant factor for them.
The committee has taken all the survey results into consideration when setting the training programs for the upcoming seasons.
We thank all those members who took the time to respond with some very interesting comments.
TRAINING SESSIONS FOR SUMMER 2011/12
Monday 6-7.00am cancelled as from Monday, September 5th - contact Robyn Brown (robyn.brown@internode.on.net) if you wish to continue training at this time.
Monday and Thursday 10-11.00am will move to Westminster pool on Monday, September 5th and remain there until weather becomes warmer.
Tuesday and Thursday 6-7.30pm and Saturday 8.30-10.00am will move to Marion outdoor pool mid October (date to be advised).
Winter 2012 - all morning sessions will be at Westminster pool.
Our current negotations with SALC are aimed at meeting the requests of the evening session swimmers especially for the 50 metre pool - will keep you informed of further developments.
Please remember that your SALC 20 passes can be shared and remain current for 12 months from purchase.

Changes to SAC entry fees
Hi All
The committee have just been notified by SALC that the following prices
will apply for 20 entry pass card from September 1, 2011.
Adult 20 pass card: $122.40
Concession 20 pass card (seniors or students): $98.60
Please note that the $83.25 for a 20 entry pass card remains available
to Club members until 31 August 2011.
These passes can be shared and stock piled (they have a 12 month expiry
date).
As previously advised all members will need to pay pool entry at reception
from Monday, August 1, 2011.
Training fees will be collected poolside as normal.
SALC have been very disappointing with their increase in prices - it
will make SALC an expensive place to swim on a regular basis.

Changes to SAC entry fees

Hi All
We have recently been notified by SAC that they will no longer invoice our Club re pool entry.
SAC has told us the following:
As from 1 August 2011 each member must present at the reception desk before entering pool and pay pool entry which can be one of the following:
$7.20 - adult
$5.80 - concession (senior card included)
Book of 20 passes @ $83.25 (approx $4.20 per pass) - at this stage passes are available for purchase until beginning of 1 September 2011 (passes will be honoured for 12 months from date of purchase).
Please take your Marion Marlins membership card when buying passes and do not let front reception desk charge you anymore than $83.25.
Membership of SAC
In addition training fees will be paid poolside - there will be no change to training fees (Tuesday and Thursday 6-7.30pm $6, other sessions $4).
Westminster pool remains at $8 (Saturday 8.30am - 10.00am).
Regarding memberships for SAC - please see Sean Fitzgerald - he is familiar with our Club membership entitlements.
We apologise for these changes - intially, when we negotiated with SAC we were misled - your committee will continue to fight for a better financial outcome.
